Associate Pastor for Youth and Family Ministries
Our Associate Pastor Nominating Committee (APNC) has been working since September 2018 to learn about and begin the process of finding and welcoming the right candidate to lead our Children, Youth, and Family Ministries. The APNC has created a compelling narrative to attract candidates who will be able to understand how the position will help us move toward our vision of being an inquiring and inclusive Christ-centered community. Interim Director of Music/Organist
Derry Presbyterian Church is seeking a part-time Interim Director of Music/Organist (DOM/O). This is a temporary position expected to last several months. Derry has a recognized, established and varied music program to include voice, bell, chime, and instrumental choirs – most of which are led by volunteer directors under the guidance of the DOM/O. The centerpieces of the music program are a 27 rank Reuter pipe organ and a 6’4” Yamaha concert grand piano.
The ideal candidate will have:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Music
- 3-5 years’ experience as a combined church organist/conductor of multiple and varied choirs (vocal, bells, instrumental)
- Knowledge of appropriate church music (classical, contemporary, folk, gospel)
- Accomplished ability to play standard organ repertoire from Bach, French classical to contemporary composers and hymn tune arrangements
- High levels of competence at simultaneous playing organ/piano and directing choir.
