  • What You Need to Know about the Giving Tree

One of the wonderful traditions of Derry's Christmas season is the "Giving Tree" which provides gifts for 150 children of families using the Hershey Food Bank. The tree will be placed over the Thanksgiving weekend. Look for the decorated gift tag ornaments made by our Pilgrim Fellowship. Each tag lists a child's age (18 and under), gender and family identification number.

You're invited to choose a tag from the tree. Record your name next to the corresponding number on the master sheet posted nearby. The Mission & Peace committee suggests gifts in the $25 range. Since every child receives a clothing-only voucher, toys and games are recommended for boys and girls while gift cards are great choices for teenagers. All gifts should be returned unwrapped in a Christmas gift bag by Sunday, December 10 with your ornament gift tag attached to the handle.
