Event Detail:

“Twelfth Night of Christmas” features Derry’s own Tracy & Nicola Burke in this six-person trombone choir. Enjoy holiday favorites arranged for trombones, including The Wexford Carol, Still Still Still, Angels from the Realms of Glory, Up on the Housetop, O Come All Ye Faithful, Angels We Have Heard on High and God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen. Dr. Rob Spence of Elizabethtown College will direct the ensemble.

This concert was organized by Elizabethtown resident and local musician Jerry Heilner to honor the memory of his daughter whose life was taken by domestic violence at the hands of her husband. Diana Meredith Heilner Ziegler’s life, as well as the life of her unborn daughter Charlotte, was taken on January 27, 2017. As a means of raising awareness regarding domestic violence as well as honoring the memory of his daughter and granddaughter, Mr. Heilner decided to use his musical talents, as well as those of his trombone colleagues to present this benefit concert.

Admission is free and all proceeds from a free-will offering will go to the Pennsylvania Coalition Against Domestic Violence (PCADV). A representative from PCADV will speak briefly about the prevalence of domestic violence during the intermission. Reception follows in Fellowship Hall.
